Yes, I've heard the Ghostbusters 3 news. As a lifelong fan of the series, I'm very excited. I'm just still ticked the video game got delayed. If they were smart they would release it now or in the next few months to really build some steam for the franchise. At least there's some new comics being released.

For those who don't know, if it really came down to it, the original Ghostbusters is probably my favorite movie ever. It never shows up on any of my lists, probably because I just think it's a given. It was the first VHS tape I ever owned. Before my dad bought it for me we rented it so many times that I had already memorized the majority of the dialog. I still have my original VHS copy, purchased for an insane price of at least $50. VHS tapes were not "priced to own" in 1985, remember? The tape actually broke when I was in high school from watching it so many times on an increasingly aging and dangerous VCR, also from 1985.

So am I nervous about a new Ghostbusters movie? No. I'm just surprised they didn't do it sooner. Any release of anything Ghostbusters related has always been huge. There's a big fanbase out there. I'm glad they're finally catching on to that again. I think with the right screenplay, involvement from Dan Akroyd and Harold Ramis (the rest of the cast would be awesome too, but I'm thinking from a behind the scenes standpoint), and a solid cast, this could be a great movie, one I hope kids and parents can get into as much as we did 24 years ago.
